Voidrunner Let’s unbox an actual Voidrunner’s Codex!

The Voidrunner’s Codex—a boxed set which brings space opera sci-fi to your 5E and Level Up: Advanced 5E games—funded on Kickstarter last year.

While we're waiting on shipping, let’s take a look at a Voidrunner's Codex boxed set in all it's physical glory.

This thing is HEAVY! It's like holding several bricks at the same time. Until you get hold of it, it's hard to appreciate just how enormous this product is. But you can get a sense of its size in the images below. 3 books, a GM screen, and a box containing dozens of poster maps and sheets of cardboard tokens. It's a LOT of stuff!

Voidrunner’s Codex will be available to buy later this year!

This agonizes me, I want it so bad. It’s beautiful! The only reason I didn’t back the Kickstarter is that I hardly play 5E anymore.

Will this be available retail? (EDIT: Rereading the post, it seems like it will be.) If I encounter it in person, it might become an impulse purchase

I am so mad that the tariff nonsense in the US are likely to delay my getting my hands on this set - I've been looking forward to it the pictures just make me want to get my hands on it more!

Hmnn. How well does it work with tales of the valiant?
"Well Enough"

A5e is based on the 2014 edition of 5e D&D and builds out from that premise.

Tales of the Valiant is largely based on the 2024 edition of 5e D&D and builds out from that premise.

But since you can play a 5e game with 2014 and 2024 content side by side, you can play a game with A5e and Tales of the Valiant side by side.

The only gremlin chewing the gears you should really run into is Conditions. 2024 redefined some of what 2014 put out, so did A5e, so did TotV. Pick one version to run with, however, and you'll be groovy.
Is there a default setting or is it mainly a toolbox to create your own game? I'd like to learn more about the default setting if there is one.
Toolbox. All the designers went into it knowing we weren't making a campaign setting, just the tools to run a Sci-Fi game with a 5e baseline. Obviously some stuff sneaks in here or there with the adventure, but we tried to keep it all as setting-agnostic as possible.

You should be able to run Star Wars, Star Trek, Starfinder, Gamma World, Farscape, the Orville, Wildstar, and a hundred other settings and styles within the system, though.
