[Legacy of Kain for D&D/D20] Information on Nosgoth

Jezrael

First Post
I'm contemplating starting a game set in the lands of Nosgoth from the video game series Legacy of Kain, probably using Ravenloft/D&D rules. Does anyone know any good places to get information on the actual lands of Nosgoth. I find plenty about the storys of Kain and Raziel, but very little about Nosgoth in general. Basically all that I know is that Meridian is the capital and Kain once ruled Coorhagen...other than that I'm stumped.

Or if no information is available perhaps a little helpful brainstorming to get the creative juices flowing.

Players will probably start as Sarafan guardsman and have to work their way up in the hierarchy, lots of vampire slaying.

Thanks.

I think the best place to look for info on Nosgoth is the first Legacy of Kain game. I've looked around and haven't found anything other than FAQ's and walkthroughs. I may have some info but you'll have to wait until I get home first.

Nosgoth seems like such a cool setting.

I think playing as vampires would be the best thing for a LoK feeling; just a random thought.

(edit) Found something http://www.siliconknights.com/heritage/kain_n.htm - Scoll to the bottom and you'll get to a link for the FAQ and screenshots for the first game. I think it's got the most info you'll find on Nosgoth. Well mostly the plot and characters in the first game. Sorry if it's not much help.

If you don't have it, you may want to pick up the strategy guide to the original Legacy of Kain for PSOne. It comes with a large color map of Nosgoth which you might find handy, and you can probably get it relatively cheap since LoK is an older game. It's called Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain Official Game Secrets and was put out by Prima Publishing round about '96.

There's also some info to be found hunting around the Nosgothic Realm fan site. They have links for each of the games in the series, and a screenshot of the map of Nosgoth, which is the same as the one that came with the strategy guide mentioned above.

If you have a PS2, you may want to rent (or buy, it's an awesome game) the Soul Reaver 2 game. There's a pretty thorough timeline in the DVD extras which may be helpful to you.

You may even want to pose your question on the Eidos forums. They have separate boards for Blood Omen and Soul Reavers 1 and 2, and there's lots of fans over there who can probably provide some help as well.

Hope this helps, and best of luck to you!
