D&D 5E "Jedi" type spells

Using only the current rules set, how would you create a character that had "Jedi" like abilities?

Just kinda thinking out loud, looking for input or other threads where this has been discussed.

Option 1:

Fighter with Magic Initiate Feat (3 cantrips and 1 1st level spell) that becomes an Eldritch Knight

Option 2:

Fighter/Sorcerer Multiclass (Dragon Origin for the AC)

Option 3:

Monk Something

Option 4:

Fighter 2 (for action surge)/Thief (Arcane Trickster)

Option 5:

Elven Sorcerer (For Longword)

I've always the thought the Great Old One Pact of the Blade Warlock was a natural for a Jedi like character. The powers from a great (uncaring) source, cool weapon only the Jedi knows how to use, ability to fight well without armor, blow people around and mess with their minds. Some of the apprapos spells and Invocations might be:

I would go Elemental Monk. First: Because Monk is not far off from the SWSE Jedi class and second: because Jedi are more "mystical knights" than full casters. Eldrich Knight would also work for these reasons.

Most importantly I feel that spell-lists do not properly represent Jedi "casting". Their "spells" are more improvised (even if the results are consistent), they don't study from a scroll how to shoot lightning, they meditate on the force. They should not have a "book of spells". Secondly to this: Jedi are usually shown with only a couple of general utility spells. Push/Throw. Pull/Lift. And a couple offensive abilities: Lighting, Choke, mental effects. This fits well into the Monk Elemental design of giving them a short selection of utility/offensive spells. Instead of the more typical caster who has a book chock full of them. Ki is also a good system for representing "the Force" both thematically and mechanically. A spell-point using Eldrich Knight would also work in this regard, but "spell slots" aren't really fitting as a Jedi can keep using "Force Push" until they are exhausted, not until they run out of slots.
 

I looked at this for a while as a question of how to run a Star Wars Saga Edition AP in 5e for my daughter. I finally said, "Magic in 5e is using the Force, and all the spells and magic abilities are just different manifestations of the force. Sure the flavor is a bit different, but I got to working on the AP a lot faster. It means the adventuring party is very skewed towards force sensitivity and there are many more interesting manifestations of the force. The sun blade becomes the lightsaber, but a creature needs to spend the 250 days or a feat to gain proficiency to use it.

So there was not any one type of jedi or force sensitive creature. There could be an Eldritch Knight, Monk, Paladin, Wizard, Bard, Druid, Sorcerer, Cleric, Arcane Trickster, and Barbarian all become different types of force sensitive creatures and not necessarily jedi. In many of the old books different jedi would focus on different paths, and maintaining the existing 5e classes is a cool way to exhibit the different specializations that a force sensitive user could achieve.

I agree with this. Thematically and conceptually, D&D monks and Jedi are already very close--far closer than warlocks. I would create a Way of the Force subclass, using the Way of Four Elements as a starting point.

Yeah I actually really don't know how people are seeing "Jedi" in Warlock....Sith? Maybe...Sith has a lot of the dark magic and evil ghostly patrons and weird magic/science hybrid stuff going on, but I really don't see it for Jedi.
