James Marsters to join the cast of Smallville

I read a blurb in the Post yesterday, and decided to check it out on the net. I'm really excited that he's working again, because I loved him in Buffy and Angel, but the point that has been brought up by others is whether or not he can break the Spike mentality.

It'll be interesting to see him play Braniac.

James Marsters is not british he's an american .

If they made him British, Marsters wouldn't have a chance of outgrowing the Spike character.

Hope he gets green-skinned. He'd look just like L.E.G.I.O.N.'s Vril Dox and Legion's Brainiac 5.

Tom Wopat is also appearing in a cameo with John Schneider.

But seriously, it's good to see James in a recurring role on the series. He's a good actor with a lot of potential, and one that I'm hoping to see move to movies sometime in the near future. I think he could carry some serious serial killer / horror protagonist / beleagured cop roles by himself.

Not to mention the DUDE SHOULD'VE BEEN TAPPED FOR CONSTANTINE, DAMMIT. But that's old news.

I'd really like to see him play Gambit in an X-Men movie. I think he would rock.

Nah, he's too old for Gambit. But he would've been perfect for Constantine.
