Indie Horror RPGs

I'm looking to run a horror rpg sometime for a change of pace.

I know about the more "mainstream" games. CoC. WoD. Deadlands. Etc.

That said, do any of you have any suggestions for indie or smaller games that are horror-themed?

Here indie horror games that have received great reiews

Horror Show (Bedrock Games): Just receive a comp copy, yesterday, and started looking through it. I had already seen a couple of very good reviews and, upon a quick run through it looks like it lives up to the reviews. Unlike the other games on this list, it seems to cover all genres of horror rather than limiting to a specific subgenre or setting . I seem to recall the book stating it provides a couple of ways to play, but I might be recalling one of the other two Bedrock games I also downloaded and was looking through (I am sure Bedrock will correct me if I am wrong).
review. I found another great capsule review at rpgnow.

Slash Flick: Directors Cut (Spectrum Games): Another game for which I have seen good reviews. Focuses the characters on being victims in a slasher flick. review. You can find more reviews at rpg.net

Little Fears: Nightmare Edition (Funsized Games) A game of childhood terror. The PCs are kids. All the mosnters that kids imagine are real. Parents can't help them. review. You can find more reviews at rpg.net

War of the Dead (Daring Entertainment): requires Savage Worlds core book. It is 52 adventures (split over 4 books) starting from the initial outbreak and leading to a full blown zombie apocalypse (a setting for the aftermath is supposed to be released). It is inspired by the Walking Dead so if you like that or Zombie Apocalypse it is, defintiley, worth checking out. I own the first book and it is great. The books include NPCs and other information
review Note: since the review, the reviewer has become an editor on the products. However, this was done before that happened and his reviews are always fair.

Dread: The First Pandemonium (Neoplastic Press): a free d12-dice pool splatterpunk game. Demons have invaded Earth to start Armageddon. Upon their arrival, they wiped out a few small towns in the midwest. Now, they have infiltrated society. The PCs are down on their luck individuals that are about or have hit rock bottom and were rescued from a demon attack by a mysterious figure that gives them supernatural powers to hunt down and fight the demons. It has been describe as Tarrantino filming Clive Barker. (I own this and it looks good). You can find plenty of reviews at rpg.net

"Here is my basic problem with Dread: The First Book of Pandemonium.
Why haven't I heard more about it? It is an extremely easy, almost light, game for all sorts of horror. The execution is extremely well thought out and has such an indie charm to it I am a little confused as to why I haven't heard more about it. Let me go over the book a bit."
- Timmothy Brannan who has worked on the Buffy and Ghost of Albion games (the quote is from his blog, The Other Side

Spite: The Second Pandemonium (Neoplastic Press) a free standalone splatterpunk game using the same system as Dread and taking place in the same setting (the two can be used together). Angels have come to earth to cleanse it and institute God's plan before it is time. They not only kill sinners, but innocents whom they send to heaven. The PCs are granted supernatural powers to stop these fallen angels. It had been described as In Nomine if written by Clive Barker (I own this and it looks good, but it is huge 428 pages). review

Others
It Came From the Late Show (now out of print): Focuses on B- movies. The rules are said to be wonky, but fun.
Dead of Night
Horror Rules: focuses on horror comedy (e..g, Zombieland, Slither 8 Legged Freaks)

Dead of Night from SteamPower Publishing is a well-crafted, rules-light horror game that doesn't get enough of the love it deserves. I've used it two years in a row now for the annual Halloween horror game and both times it was well received by the players.

I also like Ghostories from Precis Intermedia and Against the Darkness from Tabletop Adventures and recommend checking those out too.

How is it possible that I saw the title, knew exactly what my post was going to be, and when I got here there were two people who had already beaten me to the punch?

Also: Dread.

[EDIT]Rumor has it that there's some crazy new horror game that uses Jenga or something as a mechanic, it's called 'Bread' or 'Fred' or something.

Well it's not Indy, nor Light, but for Pathfinder, but I have an Asian horror setting called Kaidan: a Japanese Ghost Story, and even offer a free adventure called Frozen Wind, which might make it worth checking out!

There's an introductory campaign arc of 3 adventures called The Curse of the Golden Spear, plus many class and faction supplements, as well as #30 Haunts for Kaidan - a collection of Japanese haunts.

For Light/Indy, as above, I recommend Dread.

Yes, you are correct. We provide optional rules and three character sheets to scale lethality so you can run Evil Dead one day and Rosemary's Baby the next. Basically three character sheets with different wound trackers combined with two basic damage systems (dice pools where you count every success or dice pools where you count only one success plus any tens). Also have a bunch of similar optional rules for other aspects of the game.
