I need a smoke elemental

Can anyone point me to a smoke elemental, preferably online?

It's in the Manual of the Planes, which I don't believe is Open Content.

Technically, its a Steam Elemental in the MotP...but that's close enough.

I'm not aware of one online, but there is one in the Manual of the Planes. Has this attack where if you don't make a fortitude save, you inhale part of it, and it can solidify it into a claw and automatically deal double damage.

I don't have the MotP, but this is probably enough information for me to modify an air or fire elemental from the SRD into a smoke elemental. Thanks.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. I'm referring to the smoke, ooze, magma, and ice para-elementals.

am i the only person who things having a claw materialise inside your lung and throat should maybe cause instant deadness?

Maybe the same should happen when a greatsword hits you, or a fireball, or a dragon's bite attack, etc, etc.

ahh, but a mere hit from a greatsword doesnt mean you have been impaled/decapitated/dismembered a 'hit' might well mean your armour stopped the blow but the force knocked some stuffing out of you.. ditto with a fireball, it might singe you but not do any major damage.. as for the dragon.. er.. he might just be playing with you?
