How to hide from True Seeing?

What beats True Seeing? (shy of Epic spells)
Is it expected that once the players hit levels in the teens then badguys can't hide from them magically anymore?

That's it pretty much. True Seeing beats magical hiding.

However, mundane hiding (behind trees, crates and such) still works as normal, so it's not like True Seeing was unbeatable. But if there is no physical obstacle, True Seeing will see you no matter what.

Of course there is a lot of magic that creates physical obstacles like wall spells. In fact any spell that isn't an illusion might create something that can't be seen through like tiny hut.

Yup, just make a good, old-fashioned Hide check, like you did back when you were second level. Rogues keep pumping ranks in Hide after they can afford Invisiblity magic for a reason, ya know!

Actually, now that I look through stuff, I think that Nondetection would work, since it defeats Divination spells and True Seeing is divination. There's a caster level check in place, but it at least it's a chance...

There's a pretty good argument for mind blank beating true seeing. From the SRD:

This spell protects against all mind-affecting spells and effects as well as information gathering by divination spells or effects.

I know it's been hotly debated ad nauseum around here, but that certainly suggests to me that mind blank trumps true seeing.

cloud mind would work in all likelyhood. Although it is rather unlikely for the person to fail their save once they have access to true seeing ;)

I would not count True Seeing as information gathering. It doesn't really do that, but rather enhances your sight to see through illusions and similar magical veils. It's very similar to See Invisibility, which also should not be defeated by Mind Blank and similar anti-divination magic.

Yup, that's the crux of the argument. I disagree with you, myself - what does true seeing do if not impart information? - but since I only have to worry about ruling it for my own game, it's no big deal. It is times like this that I feel sorry for WotC's customer service guys.

Try this.

From the SRD:

Dust of Disappearance: This dust looks just like dust of appearance and is typically stored in the same manner. A creature or object touched by it becomes invisible (as greater invisibility). Normal vision can’t see dusted creatures or objects, nor can they be detected by magical means, including see invisibility or invisibility purge. Dust of appearance, however, does reveal people and objects made invisible by dust of disappearance. Other factors, such as sound and smell, also allow possible detection.
The greater invisibility bestowed by the dust lasts for 2d6 rounds. The invisible creature doesn’t know when the duration will end.
Moderate illusion; CL 7th; Craft Wondrous Item, greater invisibility; Price 3,500 gp.
