How many Forgotten Realms novels are there?

My friend thought there were more Forgotten Realms novels than Dragonlance novels, and I always assumed the opposite (probably because back in the 2e era there was no contest, Dragonlance was clearly ahead).

Wikipedia tells me there are 190 Dragonlance novels, but the internet isn't being helpful on giving me a good number of Forgotten Realms novels.

Anyone know how many there are?

I count about 306, not including reprints, reissues, or anthologies, which would add over 100 more novels to the total.
Reprints and reissues are essentially the same story without a major rewrite, so I would personally only count anthologies in that list.

I am not sure what factor would be used to account for the number of stories that are...Somewhat inconsistent with Forgotten Realms canon, or Dungeons and Dragons narrative, of the time. Or the question of whether said novels should be fully counted as integers.

Okay, it looks like FR wins. I'm still guessing that this is because FR kept churning out books, while DL mostly stopped. Back in the 2e era, I'm pretty sure that Dragonlance was far ahead of any other setting for novels. I mean, that was kind of its thing.

TOO Many. Most suck balls
Theodore Sturgeon said:
I repeat Sturgeon's Revelation, which was wrung out of me after twenty years of wearying defense of science fiction against attacks of people who used the worst examples of the field for ammunition, and whose conclusion was that ninety percent of SF is crud. Using the same standards that categorize 90% of science fiction as trash, crud, or crap, it can be argued that 90% of film, literature, consumer goods, etc. is crap. In other words, the claim (or fact) that 90% of science fiction is crap is ultimately uninformative, because science fiction conforms to the same trends of quality as all other artforms.
If we call this Brandegoris' Addition to Sturgeon's Revelation, we reach the conclusion that there is approximately 9x times more junk than we should really have. ;)

However, amateur writers will not get better without feedback. For those who will not listen to feedback, the previous statement stands unfortunately unchanged. :erm:

Dangit, this is hard to research! I'm trying to cut through all the reprints and nonsense and just get down to the meat of it, but I can't find any websites that are giving lists in the same format for both series. (Well, Wikipedia, but it's list is the kind of useless mess I'm talking about).

My gut tells me that At least through the mid-90s (if not later) there were more Dragonlance books, before it waned and Forgotten Realms just kept growing. Wish I could validate that thought with numbers though.
