How many arrows?

Started along the line of a Ranger specialising in Archery.

What I was wondering was, by the time she gets to 20th, how many arrows can she shoot in one round with feats like rapid shot, many shot and a BAB of 20/15/10/5 ?

I worked out that rapid shot would just give an extra attack (ie 5 arrows) but can it be combined with many shot?

Nope, Manyshot, being a standard action by itself, cannot be combined with anything else, which requires an action (standard or full round), like attacking, for example.

Maximum ranged attacks are probably 6 with 4 from BAB, 1 from Rapid Shot and 1 from Haste. In some occasions, there are special abilities, like from the Order of the Bow Initiate, which allow an extra attack here and there. You could get an additional one (even an additional Manyshot) by polymorphing into a Choker (using Assume Supernatural Ability: Quickness), but it would be fairly hard to use a bow then...

Now, if you were using twin repeating crossbows...

If the maximum is only 6 with 2 coming from rapid shot and haste, what is the point of Many shot?
All it does is combine your BAB for one action - Does it allow a move action as part of the round?

Yes, that's the whole point of Manyshot, it allows you to shoot (multiple arrows) and move.

Greater Manyshot is cool for rogues, since it can be used in the surprise rounds to deliver quite a barrage of sneak attacks, but other than that, I think Manyshot is only good in a very limited environment, where high maneuverability is of greatest importance. Usually full attack with Rapid Shot is simply the better choice.

It cannot even be combined with Shot on the Run, because when using Manyshot you are not using the attack action.

GREATER MANYSHOT [GENERAL]
You are skilled at firing many arrows at once, even at different opponents.
Prerequisites: Dex 17, Manyshot, Point Blank Shot, Rapid Shot, base attack bonus +6.
Benefit: When you use the Manyshot feat, you can fire each arrow at a different target instead of firing all of them at the same target. You make a separate attack roll for each arrow, regardless of whether you fire them at separate targets or the same target. Your precision-based damage applies to each arrow fired, and, if you score a critical hit with more than one of the arrows, each critical hit deals critical damage.
Special: A fighter may select this feat as one of his fighter bonus feats.

Well, yeah. You'd get 8 attacks this way without haste.

Another way to gain 8 attacks:

Rapid Shot, Quick Draw, TwF, ITwf, GTwF, dagger of speed.

And throw... Hope you stocked up on a bandolier of daggers.

Add in a dancing weapon and gain yet another attack.
