D&D Movie/TV Honor Among Thieves characters & creatures

Hey all,

I thought I'd start a separate thread to discuss what we know about the characters in the upcoming Honor Among Thieves movie.

Protagonists

• Chris Pine is Edgin, a human bard (and Harper)
• Justice Smith is Simon, a human (or half-elf?) sorcerer
• Michelle Rodriguez is Holga, a human (or gold dwarf?) barbarian
• Sophia Lillis is Doric, a tiefling druid, probably Circle of the Moon (with creative licence to allow her to shift into an owlbear form)
• Regé-Jean Page is Xenk, a human paladin, possibly Oath of Vengeance (based on Michelle's "I'm glad he's on our side" comment from the trailer)

Antagonists

• Hugh Grant is Forge, a human (or possibly a shapechanged [gold] dragon) rogue
• A Thayan lich
• A female Red Wizard of Thay (Daisy Head?) who may also be the mage with the headdress from elsewhere in the trailer
• Possibly some Thayan warriors (the guys with the green-flame blades and tattoos in the Underdark)

Monsters

• mimic
• black dragon
• fat red dragon (most likely Themberchaud from Out of the Abyss)
• displacer beast
• gelatinous cube
• giant wolf spider
• animated (gold dragon) statue

Also, according to this video on IMDB, the "unlikely heroes team up with Hugh Grant's deceitful rogue to stop an evil they accidentally unleashed."

The movie's wikipedia page mentions the protagonist's names, so I've added those to my OP.


Also, I think the below shots are of the same character. Looks like the same actress to me (probably Daisy Head). And that headdress conveniently covers her bald head and tattoos. I'm guessing that the PCs don't know they're helping a Red Wizard in disguise at first, and then later on they go after her and fight her in the arena.

Given that Szass Tam was mentioned in the survey, I would lay very high odds it's him.

It's more obvious if you look at a picture of Daisy Head and compare it to each image. They are both Daisy Head, and it seems unlikely she would be playing two characters!

I'm reasonably confident Holga is a dwarf, but with mostly unfinished SFX. The CGI action sequence where she is raging and smashing things around clearly has dwarven proportions.

I thought HG was confirmed as the villain in the movie?

It's possible to be a villain and not the main antagonist.
