WotC has provided a full list of changes between the 2014 and 2024 versions of Dungeons & Dragons' Player's Handbook.

The changes include classes, backgrounds, species, spells, stat blocks, feats, equipment, rules, and new terminology.
Also included is a list of things from 2014 which are still usable in 2024, which includes 7 subclasses, 2 species, and 3 feats.

There's a separate list which details the changes to the D&D Beyond platform.

I'm not sure what the point of this is. The list all the rules eidgets that have changed, but what's the point if you can't know how they changed without owning both the 5.0 and 5.5 PH?

Also, what's the difference between "redesigned" and "revised" spells?

If you want to know how they changed, I think it's a reasonable expectation that you a) buy it, b) pay for it on Dndbeyond, c) get it from the library, or d) borrow it from a friend. They're not really providing a free service.

It's for people who own the 2014 and 2024 books.

If you only have the 2014 book, you don't need this. If you only have the 2024 book, you don't need this. If you have the 2014 books and are now moving to the 2024 books, this might be a useful reference for you.

I see. I would have thought it would be a good way to convince 2014 owners to buy 2024.

They've released hundreds of ads, articles, videos, interviews, and previews over the last 3 months or so. This is not one of them; neither is it a comprehensive changelog; this is a helpful reference tool for those moving from one book to another. Different pieces of media serve different purposes. That's this one's purpose.
