D&D 5E Help Me Think Like an Ice Devil

I am an Ice Devil.

I have an 18 INT.

I am Lawful Evil.

I am trapped (and have been trapped) in a world ruled by Chaos.

I am weakened to the point where my spells are less powerful and my attacks weaker.

I almost got owned by like 6 low level human things.

The human things claim to be enemies of chaos and champions of law.

I have been trapped in a "mine" for a thousand years. I can leave but there are too many creatures of Chaos outside my structure.

There is a unicorn that is always watching and attacks me when I leave.

My white scales are soft.

The only thing I am powerful enough to summon anymore is Ice Mephits.

I hate Ice Mephits.

What do I do when they little human things come back?????....because they always do, and the smarter ones will be more prepared.

Question. Why are you trapped? What is sapping your power? Why not just die so you can reform a new body in Hell? Why can the devil summon other devils? Why can't he corrupt other humans to free himself, gain power, or conquer the land.

I am trapped by a layer of chaos that surrounds the entire plane I am in. The Chaos field is slowly weakening me. If I die here, I will not be able to return to hell.

If the ice devil is already that weak, it will probably die. I'm not understanding why it is being weakened. What will give it its power back?

Offer the Ice Spear of the Gelugon in exchange for the "little human things'" help in returning to the Nine Hells. It will trade them the spear for a scroll of banishment which can be obtained from a ruined library a short distance away.

The ice devil might not even have this spear anymore, but could produce a reasonable facsimile. Or maybe it does have the spear, but any mortal that dares use it is struck with a terrible curse.

Thanks, I like the trading of the spear for a scroll.

I was thinking about it needing a new heart. At one point, ice devils had a frozen mortal heart or something. Getting a new one might free it from its curse.

I think it would be cool to have the pcs do the surgery as well.

Summon ice mephits, as many as you can. Human things get hurt; ice mephits get hurt. Win-win.
