Nuts, especially almonds.

Some kind of chili is always nice. You can make a vegetarian chili too if you like. I make mine with brown rice and organic refried and black beans. Very hearty and you don't even notice there's no meat. Turkey chili is really good too. Make sure you get the blue tortilla chips.

Fruit is always good but that might be manly enough for a Superbowl snack.

Good stuff. :) I think I need to hit Trader Joe's and the health food store today.

I'm going to order some humus and baba ghanoush for dips instead of something sour cream based. Pita bread - I seem to recall seeing bags of hard pita bread chips for dipping somewhere - sort of an alternative to potato chips. Anyone know what I'm thinking of?

I think I'll try a big bowl of almonds instead of peanuts this year as well. I'm also going to get some dried pineapple slices because they're my favorite.

Now if my team wins and Tom Petty doesn't have a wardrobe malfunction and scar the nation, Super Bowl Sunday will be one of the best ever! :D

You can have a hero/hoagie/grinder/sub if you're smart about it. Use something other than mayo or butter as a condiment. Use lean cold cuts; no salami or bologna. Leave off the cheese or if you must have it, use low fat (personally I've never found a decent low-fat cheese).

A few cucumber and tomato slices and a little lettuce and you've got a pretty well-rounded meal.
