Healing deities and symbols

First Post
I'm trying to create a 6th lvl Ranger/2nd lvl Cleric Half-Celestial Elf. (Level thing taken into account)

Her patron deity is naralis analor, the watcher of souls.

question on naralis analor:
what symbol does he use and what symbols are good for a deity concerned with healing, renewal and good?

I also need to know what colors his priests wear.

thanks.

thanks... i think i'll change the symbol. (not exactly cannon, but hay. ^)^) um next question. what symbols are commonly used for deities whose portfolio include healing, renewal and good?

I was thinking of the standard snake-twining around a flowering staff?

I'd go with the phoenix, myself. Not that I'm biased, of course. :) Pretty much symbolizes everything you want without too much of the sun mythos, although I think a sun would be apt as well.

yeh... a phoenx represents renewal, healing and good. plus its a bit more frightening to evil undead creepy crawlies. I mean undead and fire generally doesn't mix. ^)^

If you want to try something completely different...how about a leech as a symbol? You know, medieval bloodletting and all of that?

Okay, maybe not.

That's the standard one, yes. It's called a caduceus. According to Greek mythology (and dictionary.com) it was a winged staff with the two serpents twined around it. It was carried by Hermes and later adopted as the symbol of the medical profession.

Other common symbols I've seen associated with Good and Healing are trees/berries/food, a cross (making it red would be a little too modern for my tastes), or a mirror.
