Haste & Rapid Shot?

If hasted and using Rapid Shot, is the bonus attack from Haste also at a -2 due to Rapid Shot?

Rapid Shot
Benefit: You can get one extra attack per round with a ranged weapon. The attack is at your highest base attack bonus, but each attack you make in that round (the extra one and the normal ones) takes a –2 penalty. You must use the full attack action to use this feat.

Haste
When making a full attack action, a hasted creature may make one extra attack with any weapon he is holding. The attack is made using the creature’s full base attack bonus, plus any modifiers appropriate to the situation. (This effect is not cumulative with similar effects, such as that provided by a weapon of speed, nor does it actually grant an extra action, so you can’t use it to cast a second spell or otherwise take an extra action in the round.)

Yup. The -2 would also apply to any AoOs you make until your next turn, since they are still an "attack you make in the round".

-Hyp.

Well I disagr.. nah only kidding :p

-2 to all attacks.

It's even spelt out in the haste description: "plus any modifiers appropriate to the situation"

Thanks for the info (and the consensus) all - I wasn't sure if Rapid Shot was a "appropriate situational modifier" or not. Figured it was best to check.

Rapid Haste?

I have a question - my DM has ruled that with the text of Haste saying it doesnt stack with Speedy weapons, that it also does not stack with Rapid Shot.

So, is he right, and if so whats the point of taking the Rapid Shot feat (at later levels) when you can just buy some boots of Haste/have the wizard buff you?

A bone of contention...

My personal ruling would be "no."

Why? The way I veiw magic.

Having played Mage: the Ascension, I tend to veiw extra action effects as temporal distortions. If your character has enough time to make an extra attack due to a temporal distortion, then you have enough time to put your all into it. So I would say no. However, as the rules are written, everyone else is correct, the -2 would be enforced.

The DM is always right... He just has now rules to back himself up in this case.

Haste and speed weapons don't stack.... RAW.

Haste or speed & Rapid fire don't stack.... house rule.

Is it the same with haste an the Bladesinger's extra attack? Or the Dervish? Or a Monk? etc.???
