Gypsies in FR

Legend
Are there gypsies of any sort in the Forgotten Realms?

Ravenloft has the Vistani and I vaguely remember one weretiger from FR who ended up in Ravenloft in the Rakshasa module knowing gypsy types from FR but I can't remember any off the top of my head and I certainly haven't read every FR sourcebook or novel.

Halflings are wandering nomads in caravans. Kinda of Gypsy.

I thought there were. Tinkers, maybe?

In the few FR games I played in the DM had an ecounter with them. He played FR by the book, so it's a little unlikely that he made them up. But this was back in 2e if that means anything.

i'm fairly sure there were some, but the details escape me at the moment.

Rhennie were from Greyhawk correct?

yeah, they call themselves "hin" and are somehow inter-planarly related to kender

. . . .

ummm, that would be halfings, i mean

Now, back into my hobbit-hole for myself :D

There is a gypsy palm reader named Arkushule in the game "Baldur's Gate".

I also seem to remember one of the (Harper?) novels featuring a section in which the protagonists travel briefly with a gypsy caravan, but for the life of me I can't remember which book it is, and Googling is doing nothing. :\

I was an avid FR follower through the 2e days. I don't remember any gypsies. Not to say there were none, but that there weren't any that were commonplace.

I liked the Ravenloft Vistani, and borrowed them for my FR game.

The name "hin" is from Ed Greenwood's home game. He used it in the Five Shires book for the Mystara setting, and it got ported to FR in 3e.
