Coming Gunslinger RPG

TDENMARK

Artist. Game Designer.
I've been working on the Gunslinger RPG for a little over 2 years now, and it goes to press this week!
It is an "OSR" game, but I'd say it is 5e adjacent, it borrows "best of" mechanics from various editions.
The setting is inspired by Edgar Rice Burroughs, though you could call it the "Wild, Wild, West RPG" if you remember the TV show (and hopefully forgot the movie!).

I've been showing previews of final art and pages on my gaming blog this week in the lead up to publication. You can see more on my blog Dungeoneering Game Blog

I just browsed your blog. I love the art! I'm curious - did you include special rules for firearms and/or duels?

Yes! I took the gunfight rules from the original Boot Hill and converted them to work with a d20 system, and added some additional details to make it more exciting. It is a special mode of combat, you wouldn't want to use them for every combat, but for epic showdowns they work great.

Strange Science

One of the features of Gunslinger is Strange Science. To those familiar with Gamma World (or the classic Expedition to the Barrier Peaks) you'll recall how exciting it was to find some weird unknown piece of technology and trying to figure out how it works. Sometimes to great effect, and other times to disaster!

And since Gunslinger doesn't have magic* this is the closest thing to it. As Arthur C. Clarke famously said "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." That is certainly true in the Arizona Territory in the 1800's where strange science is involved.

For those fans of the genre, there are a lot of Easter Eggs in here I'm sure you'll appreciate.

Closing in on those last little details to send Gunslinger to press this week.

*There is a "Mythic West" appendix in the back for those who want a little supernatural in their campaign.
