More silly - frog familiar. It can be your mini-me.

Hmm... there aren't many things that are comfortable both above and below the waterline. Crabs, crawdads, frogs, some salamanders, lungfish... If you want flying, maybe sea snake, osprey, kingfisher. Tiny croc? Oh, what about a Jesus lizard!? They can run across the top of the water.

It should be a tiny humanoid. That way it directly inverts the trope of the human with the frog familiar.

Winner.I think the only real answer is a scorpion. A frogman that walks around with a scorpion on his shoulder.
Just don't ever go swimming with it though, because you're both going to die if you do.

Slaad tadpole is tiny and seems like a good fit for the "ask your DM if you can make a deal with a tiny monster to be your familiar" optional rule. Of course, you know it will eventually infect some NPC and the adult Slaad is not going to be your familiar, but it might be your friend (be kind to your familiars).
