Devils, demons, and daemons—these are the ultimate servants of evil. Learn all their foul secrets in the Book of the Fiends, the definitive sourcebook on these fell creatures. This tome collects Green Ronin’s critically acclaimed Legions of Hell and Armies of the Abyss sourcebooks and combines them with the long awaited treatment of daemons, Hordes of Gehenna. All the fiends have been updated to the 3.5 rules, and the material on demons and devils has been revised and expanded. Details on the plane of Gehenna, its rulers, and inhabitants are also revealed for the first time. Illustrated by top artists like Sam Wood, Raven Mimura, Dennis Detwiller, Toren Atkinson, and Brian Despain, the Book of Fiends provides profoundly evil foes your players will never forget.

WOW! 224 pages! WOOT!

Sorry, just very excited by this stuff, even if i did just get LoH and AotA. LoH and AotA are only 64 pages each, for a grand total of 128 pages for the two, that leaves 96 pages for new stuff. Is all this new stuff just Daemons or do the Demons and Devils also get some extra material? Will you stick to the one page per creature? Have you guys considered branching out into miniatures, would love to have a Ashmede, Bonedreg, Chamagon, Enforcer of Dis, Hadriel (Duchess of Domination), Hellwarden, Kere, Pain Mistress, Painshrieker, Striga, what am i saying, i want them all in miniature form!

This should be really good.

Any chance we'll see some of the core classes from 3.0 updated to 3.5 as some of them serve these evil powers? I'd love to see some of the prestige classes online updated to 3.5 for example.

More tie ins to the Book of the Righteous?

More art that was cut? I believe that Leviathan was the one I'm thinking about.

The Abyssal Dragon Template in the book?

Looking forward to this puppy.

Excellent idea to combine and update the fiend books. I'm a huge fan of both Legions of Hell and Armies of the Abyss, and I'm really looking forward to Hordes of Gehenna.

I dislike the cover art, though. For such a stunner product such as this, the cover should have been discreet and stylish, reflecting the refinement of the material contained within. The title is too glaring and draws attention away from the fiend, especially the eye surrounded by flames. The blue, scantily-clothed babe has a cartoonish appearence (why include a semi-naked babe in the first place?). Why not a monk-like thaumaturge portrayed with a few of the corruptions that plague his kind? And why not make him bow before a stylish, eerie demon like Abraxas from Armies of the Abyss?

I appreciate the cover of Book of the Righteous. It has a more "painting feel" to it, and a certain dignity. The cover art for the Book of Fiends lacks this dignity.

The new stuff is not just daemons. There are new devils and demons as well. The format is generally one per page. And yes, we'd love to do minis. It's a matter of finding a way to do it that makes financial sense.

They may not be minis, but the counters from FDPs Demons & Devils pack are the next best thing - another set with ones they haven't done yet would not go amiss (although I don't know if GR got anything from that deal or not).

It's hard to tell from the small mock-up, but Sutfin's cover for this book is exceptionally detailed and really beautiful. The "blue" chick isn't semi-naked! In fact, she's not "blue"! She's wearing a blue bodysuit; maybe she's a servant of the big baddy on the cover, maybe she fancies herself a demon-slayer? She's showing off both her athletic build and her impressive weapon, ready to go. I personally really love this painting and have been waiting for ages to be able to show it off, but you just can't catch all the detail in the small size.

Just to clarify the art issue a little more, from the business angle it's extremely important that when we announce a product and show off the art (usually three or four months in advance, for solicitation to retailers and distributors) that buyers "get" the book from the information we give them. Thus the giant type in the mock-up, telling them it's the Book of Fiends, and the giant fiend on the cover dominating the scene. While I agree with you that some products demand/deserve a certain "dignity" (and we have some projects coming up that have exactly that; Blue Rose in particular is right for that treatment) other books would actually suffer from that treatment. I feel the Book of Fiends is one of those.

Any chance that Hordes of Gehenna will be a standalone product? I didn't see it on the website.

Having already bought LoH and AotA, I would rather not spend $34.95 on what would essentially be just HoG - 3.5e updates notwithstanding. :/
