I'm originally from London, but I haven't lived there in 10 years. I'm planning to return sometime next year in pursuit of a graduate degree so I want to get an idea of what the gaming scene is like there, find the best spots to meet gamers and find out about games, etc. Since I'm visiting for Xmas, I thought I'd scope out likely spots while I'm there.
This would be much easier if I had any idea of where the gaming centres in London are these days. Can any Londoners point me toward their favourite FLGS, gaming club, library basement, or wherever it is that gamers congregate these days in London?
I remember that the Crouch library used to have a gaming day, but it also tended to attract degenerate types. I'm vaguely aware of there being a couple of hobby/comic/rpg shops in town, but I don't know where they are located these days, or whether they're good places to meet up with other gamers or find info on upcoming gaming events. UWO used to have a gaming club, but I remember it collapsing in on itself due to lack of interest.
So, what's up with gaming in London these days?
