Gift of the Elves

The Ruathar prestige class states that the character receives gifts from an elven community that he helps such as a +1 longsword, elven chain, Boots of Elvenkind, and etc.

What other thematically appropriate equipment could there be?

Well, i think it's a cool PrC. But Boots of Elvenkind are not exactly what a PC would like to receive at 7-th level. Items that grant lowlight vision are actually useless as Ruathars get lowlight vision on 2nd level. I try to give them something that can be useful on higher levels, like Quiver of Ehlonna or Ring of Counterspells. I would also allow non-item gifts, like a small boost to animal companion's abilities or let a Ruathar treat one cross-class skill as a class skill (survival, spellcraft, etc.)

Races of Wild:
Tigerskin Armor (+4 Chain shirt)-cat's grace 1/day. Gain Tiger racial bonuses to hide. 10 rd/day as free action you can use scent ability. Can also make claw attack (10 rd/day).

Hawkfeather Armor: +3 Studded Leather, Hawk racial bonuses, 1/day Eagle's Spendor, 10 rd/ day- fly 40 ft (Good) as free action.

Expanding on the non-equipment side of things...

Honorary membership into the community: even though the PC isn't an Elf, he will be treated as such by those in the community, with whatever rights and duties that conveys, up to and including things like possible sanctuary if times get tough.

Knowledge of a community secret: more focused than the above, the person may be granted knowledge and use of a secret passageway, a magical trigger word for some construct or magic item, or even a secret of some kind of iconic craftsmanship known only to the community.

- orcbane (or relevant enemy bane) weapon

- (limited?) minor ring of spell storing (eg, 1 spell or something for lower level characters)

- dusty rose ioun stone

- efficient quiver

- a scroll of an "elf-only" spell (maybe something a given caster ordinarily can't cast, eg an arcane version of a druid spell for a wizard or the like)

- a "boon" from the community: letter of intro to the elf king, toll credits for passage through elven domains, etc. Perhaps a keyed SOS charm to call for help (like a limited bracelet of friends)

- themed magic items, reskinned to be elven:
... pipes of the woods (like pipes of the sewers, except with a flock of birds rather than rats)
... figurine of the silver falcon (identical to figurine of the silver raven)
... elfstep dust (=dust of tracelessness + dust of disappearance)
... ring of forestfriendship (= a limited "ring of animal friendship", with HD limit or forest animals only, or the like)

And have the con scores to do so all night and day without an endurance check.
