Gawain and the Green Knight

Who is it that has the verse from this poem in their sig. I want to use it in my game this sunday and I can't find my copy of the book anywhere. I just need the part that is in the sig on this board, the part about where Gawain must go to find the Green Knight.

Thanks all...

You rang? :)

Here, let me give you the full quote:

"Look that you go, Sir Gawain, as good as your word,
And seek til you find me, as loyally, my friend,
As you've sworn in this hall to do, in the hearing of the knights.
Come to the Green Chapel, I charge you, and take
A stroke the same as you've given, for well you deserve
To be readily requited on New Year's morn.
Many men know me, the Knight of the Green Chapel;
Therefore if you seek to find me, you shall not fail.
Come or be counted a coward, as is fitting."

Thanks Green Knight, I was hoping you would see this :)

I can't imagine where my copy has gotten off to! It's amazing how many books are missing when you most need them!

To split hairs if not heads...

Just to be pedantic, that's a translation of the quote, not the quote itself.

'Loke, Gawan, thou be graythe to go as thou hettes,
And layte of lelly til thou me, lude, fynde,
As thou has hette in this halle, herande thise knyghtes.
To the grene chapel thou chose, I charge the, to fotte
Such a dunt as thou ha dalt - disserved thou habbes -
To be yederly yolden on Nw Yeres morn.
The knyght of the grene chapel men knowen me mony;
Forthi me to fynde, if thou fraystes, fayles thou never.
Therefore com, other recraunt be calde the behoveus.'

Cool, thanks guys. I'm planning on playing a Wheel of Time character thats the Green Knight come again and you saved me some trouble. I'm thinking he'll wander around with the group in green armor and challenge supposed 'knights' to duels of honor, sparing them if they prove honorable.
