It's not really an error message, and I wish I saved a screenshot of it, but I was once trying to upload a file on Vista and it told me that my upload would take over 1 year to complete.

I think the message Chrome throws up when it encounters trouble with a web page is funny.

I've lost my screen shot, but if you got an undefined error code (older) windows tried to be helpful by reporting: "Error! No such error!"

And the ever helpful Ultrix OS from DEC had a bad habbit of "losing" parts of the user variables. If the variable lost was your userID "whoami" would return "You don't exist! Go away!"

• job has entered a HUNG state.

It was just funning to say; job hung.

Another was:

• job failed Integrity.

While working for a high school's tech deployment team one summer, I came across an XP machine that refused to turn off. You would go to shut down Windows, and it would get 90% of the way done. Then, it would give an error message saying "Windows has encountered and error shutting down. Window will now re-start", and it would reboot.

We re-imaged the hard drive immediately. I will never trust a machine that has a survival instinct.
