My opinion: This would have landed much differently, on opening weekend, if they hadn't shown Keanu in the trailer. I think it would have created far more buzz that way.

Occasionally I think to myself: Someday I will watch all the Fast and Furious movies. Someday I will watch all the John Wick movies. Someday I will watch all the Terminator movies.

Well, maybe someday ;-)

For me, that day never seems to come. Though, my favorite day was when watching a F&F movie my father when in all seriousness he asked me if The Rock and Vin Diesel were not the same guy.

Watch the first John Wick movie, the second Terminator movie and probably no Fast & The Furious and you're good. Everything else is diminishing returns, some of them steeper drop-offs than others.

T1&2; ignore the rest. But you can't skip the original, and T2 wouldn't be nearly as good without it for contrast.

John Wick 1 is the only essential film, but the next two are very well done; just exactly more of the same.

Agree that the entire Furious franchise is disposable.

I dunno.

The major premise of the FF franchise is that manual transmissions and drifting are highly conducive to family, and that's a message that has been sorely lacking in these days of social unease and general brouhaha. Only the arts, industrial or otherwise, has the ability to ground us in the physical and automotive reality that has been stolen in this age of automatic transmissions and self-driving cars. If you find yourself at a Monster Truck Rally, you are not far from salvation.
