Feats a Warlock should take?

First Post
I posted this over on Wizard's forums but all I got was critisation for not wanting to making magical items.

Anyone have any recommendations?

I plan on taking Point Blank Shot and Able Learner at 1st level as a Human. We allow Flaws from the UA in our campaigns so I planned on taking another feat. I also plan on taking Percise Shot as we are starting off at 3rd level.

This is my first Warlock and I have been considering other ideas aswell. I am not dead set on those feats above.

The Feats I took on my warlock were:

Spell penetration
Grater spell penetration
spell focus (spell like ability)
Concentration
I cant find my character sheet on him because he retired a while ago....

most feats you would take as a normal spellcaster could serve useful. Depending on your how picky your DM is don't forget the blasts are a "spell like" ability so my have to take a similar feat but from savage species or the monster manuals.

The Warlock is one of my favorite classes have fun!!

You'll likely want some Extra Invocation feats, because the warlock's major drawback is his lack of varied powers - especially when he has to split those invocations up among those which accomplish something (Fell Flight, etc.) and those which make his Eldritch Blast better (Hideous Blast, etc.).

I already plan to pump alot of my 6th level plus feats into Extra Invocation feats. I am mainly worried about my first 3 levels as I am just starting off. I have 3 (4 with flaw) feats to burn.

Lets see...

Point Blank Shot *mostly to get next feat
Percise Shot
Ability Focus (Eldritch Blast) *if you DM allows this feat
Spell Penetration *althought when you get Vitriolic Blast SR isn't a big deal

I would seriously recomend take a few item creation feats so you don't have to buy all of those things to use your UMD skill on.

At later levels take some of the feats like maximized spell-like ability and such.

I was just recently told that Point Blank Shot and Percise Shot become worthless later in level. I am torn between taking them and not.

I just don't see the value of spending experience on only paying half the cost.

Point Blank Shot
Precise Shot
Coordinated Fire or Improved Precise shot
Extra Invocations
Also there's a feat in Savage species that allows you to change a spell-like ability into a
supernatural ability. This removes the need for both spell penetration and Vitriolic blast but
it does mean you can no longer take any metamagic spell-like abilities
Ability Focus

My warlock took the acquire familiar feet and I had a raven as a familiar, since it was able to speak common, I pursaded my GM that the raven could pronounce pretty much any word (with practice) so my raven would fly arround the battlefied with a wand, activating it using my use magic device skill.

Spell Penetration will work with my other Invocations I will enventually take such as Charm and Baleful Polymorph.

Also Natural Transformation was said not to be useable on Invocations by the Warlock writer.

Correct, Supernatural Transformation does not work for Warlocks. It applies to innate spell-like abilites and the Warlock's are learned. This was clarified in the FAQ.

What feats to take depends a bit on what sort of focus you have. If you focus on doing damage with your eldritch blast, Quicken Spell-like Ability and Maximize Spell-like Ability are good choices.

After playing a Warlock for a bit, I think I'd skip Point Blank Shot/Precise Shot. Skim through the Monster Manual and look at the touch ACs. Most things you will be firing at will have low touch ACs. The penalty for firing into melee will almost never make a difference. I really don't think it's worth spending two feats for those rare occasions.

If item creation doesn't interest you, by all means skip it. A warlock (at lvl 12+) makes a good item creator, but that doesn't mean your warlock has to be an item creator.

I suggest starting with the following feats:

Ability Focus: Eldritch Blast
Able Learner
Sudden Still
Spell Penetration
