Favourite Outer Plane?

I never gave much thought to the planes in general until I got 2E AD&D Faiths & Avatars. Then my friend started buying into and running the Planescape product line. To me Planescape was like Dark Sun, neither were for the casual player and took a modicum of investment by all playing. Even players should read the player facing material, or else it wasnt worth playing to me. Even as a DM there was a lot to know and remember so unless players were invested imparting that information through exposition was just too dry. Describing all the planes and their individual mechanics was always tough for me as a DM and understanding them as a player was not always easy either. It was definitely a cool setting, but I think somewhat awkward in play at times; and the varying cannon over the editions didn't help. I voted the Beastlands for my favorite Outer Plane.

Why the Beastlands? Just like animals?

For me, Carceri has always been one of my favorite plane. The idea of an entire plane that acts as the prison of the multiverse, filled with all manner of denizens that the gods and other powers that be would imprison creatures they can’t, or won’t kill, for any number of reasons. It allows for some really creative ideas.

Carcari is my favourite Lower Plane, I like the background story of the Plane, I like the aesetic of the Plane, I like that Demodands are both wardens, guards, and prisoners at the same time.

Top Plane though is Aborea, you got Elven Gods, Fey, Mount Olympus, a Giant Goddess whose realm is filled with Giant Flowers, you got a layer that is an aquatic realm, with islands on top for a Pirates of the Caribbean vibe, and a 3rd layer with ruins and mysteries that make you ask do we really understand what the upper planes are and are they really the paradises they appear tp be at first glance.

I've always had a soft spot for Elysium, although in my personal take on the Great Wheel, it's in the (C)G spot, not NG.

Hell.

There can be only one answer.

Why?
