Faerûnian Patron Deities and Rangers

I have a chaotic good ranger who worships Shaundukal. I recently became worried when I read over the sidebar "Complete Nature Deity List" in Faiths and Pantheons which states
Druids and rangers must select one of these deities as a patron.
Shaundukal does not appear on the nature deity list. However, Shaundukal's description in this very book indicates that among his worshipers are rangers. The sidebar seems to be the only source I can find which states that my ranger cannot worship Shaundukal. A quote on pg 26 in the "Ranger" subsection in the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting seems to indicate my choice is alright. It states
Rangers and druids have similar preferences for deities, although some rangers with odd interests (such as hunting undead) choose different patrons.
I'm not sure if my character has odd interests but he has chosen a non-nature deity as his patron deity.

So my rules question is...
According to the rules, can my ranger worship Shaundukal and recieve spells?

Hmm, according to what I can see, that sidebar is the only real problem...since there's no reason Shaundakul can't grant ranger spells. I'd be tempted to say that sidebar shouldn't mention rangers at all...your best bet might be to send an email to custserv@wizards.com

In case anyone is interested I did some homework...

Inconsistencies in the Complete Nature Deities List (CNDL) found on the sidebar of pg. 90 of Faiths and Pantheons

Deities that have rangers listed as worshipers but are not listed on the CNDL: Akadi, Arvoreen, Corellon Larethian, Garagos, Grumbar, Marthammor Duin, Shaundakul, Shevarash, Tempus.

Deities listed in the CNDL but do not include rangers in their list of worshipers: Chauntea, Isis, Segojan Earthcaller, Talona, Talos, Umberlee

Deities who have druids listed as worshipers but are not listed in the CNDL: Kossuth

Deities listed in the CNDL but do not have druids listed among their worshipers: Umberlee

Note: Umberlee is the only god that has neither druids nor rangers listed as
worshipers, yet she appears on the complete Nature Deity List.

In light of the above info that I found my guess is that the Complete Nature Deities List in Faiths and Pantheons is really intended for druids, and is just a suggestion (not a rule) for rangers.
