D&D 3E/3.5 enchanting a battleaxe? (3.5 rules)

Hey all, I'm hoping you can help me out with some creative solutions to this. My 8th level paladin has come into possession of a masterwork adamantine battleaxe. Her usual weapon is a greataxe +1/+2 vs. evil, but the battleaxe does almost as much damage.

What would you do to this battleaxe to make it more effective at dealing out the damage? For some reason I'm just having trouble coming up with good ideas.

Thanks in advance!

Seems that your paladin needs a +1 holy adamantine battle axe. IIRC, it is an overall +3 weapon (worth approx. 19.000 GP). That sould work for a level 8 PC.

Later add a keen enchantment and perhaps increase it to +2 or +3.

Take the feat Improved Critical (Battleaxe or Greataxe) at level 9. More Crits => more damage (unless you're fighting undead or constructs).
And have a potion of Silversheen at hand against lycantrophes and vampires.

Holy ! +2W6 vs evil is never wrong. :)

Bane (evil outsider or giant or whatever you fight most of the time)

BYE
I'll echo this. Holy is really great, and if you fight lots of Chaotic creatures try Axiomatic. Bane also rocks...only thing is it doesn't do much if you're not fighting much of the weapon's "Bane" creature.
