First Post
Looking for help going forward with my current Eldritch Knight: Lvl 7

Half Dwarf, Fighter-EK, Noble
given: Dwarven Resilience & Dwarven Toughness

STR:19, DEX: 16, CON: 16, INT: 18, WIS: 12, CHA:13, HP: 77
FEATS: Defense & Heavy Armor Master, War Caster, Weapon Bond
Equipment: +2 Hand Axe, +2 Battle Axe, +1 Chain Mail
Skill Prof: Athletics, History, Perception, Persuasion
Tolls: Smithing
SPELLS: Cantrips- Firebolt, Green Flame Blade, 1 lvl- Burning Hands, Chromatic Orb, Thunderwave, Shield

Both of my weapons are bonded with my knight. I use the hand axe during the first attack as a ranged attack and then I versatile attack using the battle axe. BA: I transport the hand axe back to my hand.
I use GFB only when surrounded.
In this campaign we find ourselves surrounded by hordes, followed by a dragon at the end of the dungeon. Any help to maximizing my character for these scenarios is greatly appreciated.

The party consists of myself, a homebrewed fairy- water druid, a dwarf ranger, and a tiefling monk

I'd seriously consider multi-classing into Wizard, in fact the Eldritch Knight I'm currently playing pretty much did that (6 levels of Fighter/EK is a good break-point). You don't lose a lot of Fighter stuff, and gain a heck of a lot more spell power and flexibility (which it looks like your group is light on).

You have a 13 charisma - my vote is for multi-classing into Warlock after level 8 (for the feat/ABI). Fiend Patron gives you temp HP when you drop something, Fiendish Vigor invocation gives you temp HP before you drop something, Armor of Agathys (once you get some warlock levels on you) gives you temp HP that damage things that hit you. Devil sight invocation for 120' sight even through magical darkness.

I'm playing a dwarven fighter(eldritch night)/warlock(fiend patron+chain pact) and I've really been enjoying it. He's level 14 now (8 fighter, 6 warlock)

At 7th Level, you have War Magic, which is the primary benefit of the Eldritch Knight. You should cast Firebolt and throw the Hand Axe as a Bonus Action before engaging into melee. In melee you should use GFB as often as possible, then attack with the Battle Axe as a Bonus Action. This should give you 2d10+1d6+4 damage for ranged, or 4d8+8 damage for melee, which is pretty solid. If you have the option of picking up a two handed magic weapon, you should, since you can still cast spells while not attacking with it.

Going forward, Mirror Image is a fantastic spell for you at level 8, since it has no concentration requirements (open with it against the dragon, instead of firebolt/hand axe). If Feats are available, at level 8 you should consider Heavy Armor Master, because it will give you 20 Str and some damage reduction. Alternately, you can take Tavern Brawler, but that's less likely to be useful. You can increase Str and Cha by 1 if Feats are unavailable.

If you decide to multi-class to wizard, I'd suggest picking up spells you don't have access to via. EK. Some have talked about how great this is, but your HP will drop significantly, and you're still likely to fall back on War Magic (cantrip + weapon) until you reach 3rd level spells (which won't be until level 12). Given the rest of your group, however, this might be the best option if only to have utility spells via. rituals.

You're 7th levl, so my first advice is get those 2nd level spells you're entitled to have. Choices at 7th are weak as Abjuration and evocation do not serve you well. Darkness, Snilloc, and Scorching Ray are ok for now, but you'll likely end up just casting the spell you get at 8th once you have it. Great weapon master at 8th is hard to bypass for any fighter that wants to deal damage. Really, your character won't hit stride until 14th levl when haste becomes a regular part of your game.

With a Battle Axe and Defense Style, looks like he may be emphasizing AC over damage. He's probably using a shield. GWM doesn't fully work with his current weapons (neither has the Heavy property, so he can't do the -5att/+10dam, although he still gets the bonus attack on a crit or dropping enemy to 0).

Another reason to take lvl 8 as fighter - at 8th, you can select a spell that is not Evocation or Abjuration. Such as Misty Step, or Enlarge/Reduce, etc
