Hello all,
Eldritch blast gives you multiple beams as you level up. Some Invocations effect EB. So the questions
  • Agonizing blast gives you +CHR to damage. Is that per beam? Per target? Just one beam?
  • Repelling blast gives you a 10' push on a hit ("When you hit a creature with EB, you can push the creature up to 10 feet...") If you hit the same target twice, is that a 20' push? If you hit two different targets do they each push 10'?

Agonizing blast applies the bonus damage every time you hit with eldritch blast. If you have four beams, you add your Charisma bonus to each one that hits. The same goes for repelling blast. If you hit 4 times, you can push them 40 feet.

Four doses of Repelling Blast would effectively knock a target back far enough that it may not be able to reach you next turn for melee. Plus it would be an awfully cool visual.

I believe this was why the Eldritch Spear invocation is in there. 300' range means never having your victim knocked back out of range, even if you are multiclassed into Sorceror for Quicken spell and give them a head start to run away.

got to be honest, not liking the way eldritch blast is getting stretched and warped to fill in so much of the warlock class. 40 foot knock back? are you kidding? go outside and measure forty feet and think what sort of condition your body would be if you were knocked that far with projectiles.

even a cannon wouldn't have the force to do that and we all know what that would be a sheet ripping occasion.

Don't think cannon blasts, think Iron Man.

This is one of the main reasons why sheet armor didn't make the cut in 5E.
