Eberron's Keith Baker Launches PHOENIX: DAWN COMMAND Card Based RPG

Phoenix: Dawn Command is a card based roleplaying game just launched on Kickstarter by Eberron creator Keith Baker and Dan Garrison. Phoenix is a collaborative storytelling game and includes over 250 illustrated cards. "Phoenix: Dawn Command is a cardbased roleplaying game with a unique approach to character death. Players assume the role of supernaturally empowered champions bound together to defend a world besieged by nightmares. These heroes face harsh odds every mission, and many won’t survive. But death isn’t the end of a character’s story; instead, death is what makes you stronger."

You can pick up a copy of the game for $45-$50, and for $5,000 Keith Baker will run a game session for you at your home (or for $1,500 he'll run it locally and throw in dinner!) There are also reward tiers which include online seminars and the like.

I have pledged but I want to see what else they have to spoil about the game, I'll say I'm 80% sold, and if they can show some better examples of the art and gameplay I wont pull my pledge before the the last day.

I love the artwork for this game... what inspired you to go in this art direction?
We were looking for a fantasy twist on WWI/WWII propaganda art, with a tarot feel mixed in. We wanted something that felt more iconic than purely representational; it's more how the Phoenixes would be depicted in the world than an actual snapshot of one of them. I'm glad you like it!
