Hey all,
I prefer to abandon the idea of the human paladin of Kossuth... I find a new concept and I really want to play an unusual and original character : I thought of making an earth genasi druid, believing in Chauntéa. For the class, I think of taking the racial substitution of the Goliath druid (from the race of the stone).
For the race, I'd like to discuss about earth genasi. +1 ELC seem even to be inequitable. Here is my version of earth genasi based on dwarf race and earth genasi.
+2 Strength, +2 Constitution, -2 Wisdom, -2 Charisma. Earth genasi are physically impressive, but can be oblivious and stubborn.
Medium-size humanoid.
Land speed: Earth genasi base speed is 30 feet. However, earth genasi can move at this speed even when wearing medium or heavy armor or when carrying a medium or heavy load (unlike other creatures, whose speed is reduced in such situations).
Dark vision: See to 60 feet in darkness.
Craft: +2 racial bonus to Appraise and Craft checks related to stone or metal items.
Poison Resistance: +4 to saves vs. poison.
Earth Resistance: +1 racial bonus on saving throws against all earth spells and effects. This bonus increases by +1 for every five class levels the earth genasi attains.
Stonecutting: +2 to search checks regarding stonework and stone-based situations or things designed to look like stonework. A earth genasi within ten feet of such a find automatically searches for it.
Stability: A earth genasi gains a +4 bonus on ability checks made to resist being bull rushed or tripped when standing on the ground (but not when climbing, flying, riding, or otherwise not standing firmly on the ground).
Eart genasi don’t get any Weapon Familiarity. Their remote living habits made them
less picky about their weapon choices. They don’t get “+1 Attack bonus against orcs & goblinoids” and “+4 Dodge bonus against Giants” because they don’t know particular method against a race because they have no real opponents (and in the game I think that it compensated with earth resistance and the land speed. The spell resistance is converted to Poison resistance.
Well, what do you think about my earth genasi? What change can we make? Is it balanced?
Here is my character (but I shall adapt him according to comments and idea):
Druid 3
Religion Chauntéa
Alignment: Neutral Good
[15 - 10 - 16 - 14 - 15 – 14]
Str:
Dex:
Con:
Int:
Wis:
Cha:
Feats (2): Endurance & Stone form (to become a Stonespeaker Guardian)
Skills : Knowledge (nature) 6, survival 6 (and I don’t know for the rest)
Anyone have suggestions??
