Dungeons & Dragons 2024 Player's Handbook Is Already Getting Errata

D&D Beyond has made several minor updates to parts of the 2024 Player's Handbook.

The 2024 Player's Handbook on D&D Beyond contains several updates to the new revised 5th edition ruleset. Early access users of D&D Beyond who have also obtained a physical copy of the 2024 Player's Handbook have noticed several minor differences between the digital and physical copy, assumably due to soon-to-be-released errata. Notably, the following changes have been spotted:
  • Giant Insect spell contains a clarification on its HP (the physical edition states that the summoned insect has an HP of 30+10 for each level in the spell slot used to cast the spell; the digital version states 30+10 for every level above 4th level),
  • Shields now require the Utilize action to don or doff
  • Goliath's Powerful Build now specifies that it grants Advantage on ability checks to end the Grappled Condition instead of saving throws.
  • True Polymorph's spell description no longer states that the spell effects end if its target's temporary hit points run out.
  • The Telekinetic feat now specifies that it grants an increased range to the use of Mage Hand instead stating that you can cast Mage Hand at a further distance away.
Notably, Wizards of the Coast has not released an official errata document for the Player's Handbook, although they may be holding out until the book's full release on September 17th.

On KibblesTasty's list of issues in the 2024 PHB, discussed earlier, I see this item:
  • Poisoned Misses. The poisoner feat triggers the poison when “they take damage from the poisoned item” and lasts “until you hit”. This means you can use it is with a Graze weapon, and then give yourself disadvantage to spam miss the target while dealing damage with the weapon. This is not actually a good tactic in most cases, just an error in how it is written that leads to something silly.
Going through the PHB in D&D Beyond, the language in the Poisoner feat says not "until you hit", but "until you deal damage with the poisoned item", which appears to resolve the problem. Is this actually different than the printed book (for anyone who has it)?

Yes, it looks like it's been edited because it actually says "or until until you deal damage ..." (my emphasis)

They've also fixed the goliath's Powerful Build: "You have Advantage on any ability check you make to end the Grappled condition." (my emphasis)

Anyone want to check the stealth rules to see if there are any updates?
None that I saw. Nor has the Invisibility spell been changed to clarify that creatures can’t see the target for the duration. And Conjure Minor Elementals hasn’t been nerfed.

There was also a concern about whether a free hand was still required to cast a spell with somatic components. The language now says:
A spellcaster must use at least one of their hands to perform these movements.
Is that a change from the printed book? (In any case, I feel that the intent is clear whether the word "free" is there or not.)

No, that's what it says in the printed book as well.
