Dungeons and Dragons: Scourge of Worlds Interactive DVD-N

Has anyone else noticed this. It was mentioned over at the official Greyhawk forum on WotC's website (see sig).

It seems to be set on Greyhawk in the Sea of Dust but it could just as easily be WotC using good Greyhawk place names for a more generic D&D World.

The DVD has five main characters including some well know iconics: Regdar, Mialee, Barathion, Lidda, and Rayne.

I'm not sure. It was announced on the main page about two weeks to a month ago, I believe. I didn't take much interest in it then because I only skimmed over it.

I'll ask over at the WotC boards to try and find out.

The Interactive Movie is by DKP Interactive and is being distributed by Rhino. It is one extremely cool product. They showed it off at the GAMA Trade Show and gave all the attending retailers promo copies that included about 20 minutes of pick-a-path material. I believe it's releasing in June.

I worked with DKP (along with Cindi Rice) on the initial story and character elements of the interactive movie, and I can tell you it is one huge project. I can't wait until they send me my copy. ;-)

This seems almost silly to say, but you know what would make a great easter egg on that DVD? An extra with (3.5E) stats for characters and things. I know most of the basic minions will be in the MM, and most of the heroes are from Enemies & Allies, but if they have anything new, like whatever the Scourge itself is, that'd be awesome. Or maybe a layout of the dungeon itself.

Of course, a Silicon Sorcery article in Dragon could do that just as well too.

um, somewhere (mental block as to where) i read this was going to come out in june with a "special edition" later in the year.

why you would give something like this a special edition with extra choices, extra endings and making of documentaries rather than just release it all at the same time. i have no idea.

sure, you might get a couple of extra bucks from the suckers who buy it twice. but in general you will just annoy people.
