D&D 5E Dual Wielding Feat and Rapiers

Hey all,

Trying my hand at a Rogue 5/Fighter 5 build focused around dual-wielding and defense.

If I'm reading the rules right, after taking the Dual Wielder feat, there is nothing to stop me from dual-wielding two rapiers, correct?
As a finesse fighter, that seems the most effective way to dual wield in 5E at the moment (especially after taking the Two-Weapon Fighting feature from Fighter).

I too which that there was better support for rapier-and-dagger fighting (e.g), but I understand there are some historical traditions that used this:

and for those who have a-studied their Agrippa (which I have):

More importantly, what are the penalties for attacking left-handed if you aren't really left-handed? Are there penalties if you have six fingers on your right hand?

And, of course, if you go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line, do you have Disadvantage in the battle of wits?

Thanks. This is what I was (poorly) going for.
