Drow Name Phonics?

Lord Ravinous

First Post
I'm trying to come up with a name for a Drow Warrior, and I'm not too familiar with Drow phonics, I just know they like the heck out of some Z's. I searched for some generators, but no luck. I was wondering if any of you Drizzit fans out there could help (in the form of generator links, or if you feel like really going out of your way, some "phonics coaching")

Thanks ya'll.

A quick search of "drow names" at www.wizards.com turns up quite a bit of material, including a name list of all the influential Drow in all the TSR/WotC Novel line. I would go there for some ideas; if nothing else, it will give you a feel for the construction of a Drow name, and the kinds of consonants and syllables to use.

From a person who personally loathes the work RJS does Im trying not to be real harsh, but you could become the anti-drizzit and call yourself, in the great tradition of zzzzz's

Bazza
Just give him a cricket bat, take the Drunken Master PrC and flip out and smack bastards in the mouth when you get on the juice, like any sports hooligan worth his colours does on a regular basis.

yep, Bazza the dark eff...

Anyway, back on track to the topic. Most of the male names tend towards what we would consider 'effeminate' because of the way their society is structured that they DO NOT wear the pants, so to speak.
You may wish to give your character pants however, it can get chilly on the surface, mind you, if you do make up 'Bazza da dark eff', pants are optional.
But, I digress.
Find a nice fantasy 'manly' sounding name you like and give it an-
'iel'
'ana'
'elle'
...ending and 'voila!' your a dark elf with a good sounding name your family will like and it'll probably provide plenty of oppertunities to cut some smartarse surface dwellers who laugh at it.
Besides, if they tease too much, just set your sisters on em and peel their skin off with a cheesegrater...

I would also suggest looking through a copy of the Drow of the Underdark, it has a very nice list of names to use...

There is an ESD available...
