[Dragon Star] Half Dragons

Any one find these a little unbalanced?
a 4-10d6 breath weapon 1/day
a +8 str and 3 +2's (no negs)
+4 nat AC
Flight?!?!?!
All for a paltry +3 ECL
hmmm other races that have a +3 ECL
Gnoll, Locathah, Nixie, Lich.
Any feed back?

Actually this comes straight from WOTC. DMG page 22,

Half-Dragon, +3

Gnolls are only +2

The new Dragon magazine lists them as ECL +4.

The same as lizardfolk.

Yeah my +3's all came out of the new dragon as well.
Seriously... Does noone find this a tad over powered?

No, to me the ones in the DMG make alot more sence then the new nerfed versions.

The +3 ECL means less in Dragonstar. Spellware uses the exp of the recipient. So all characters have two places to dump their acumulated exp.

Just my two cents.

You're not looking hard enough

Think of it this way, with a ECL of +3 the character starts in a party of 4th level chars, a fourth level fighter with 14 con has from 21 (min) to 48 (max) hp.
Even a wizard with con of 10 has at least 7 hp, and that's with rolling all 1's. The 1/2 dragon at first lvl, even a barb w/ 20 in con can only have a total of 17 hp. He also has no more than +3 or 4 in saves.
Not to mention almost no spells, abilities, ability score increases, max of 2 feats, and 5000exp till lvl 2!!! I think it's very balanced, that's allot that a character has to give up just to be a 1/2 dragon.
And wings only come with large size, to be a large size race you have to be atleast another ECL of +1, usually more.

I understand the ramifications of being a +3 ECL race But compared to other ECL +3 races the Half Dragon seems a little "beefy" of course maybe it's just me.
