Pathfinder 1E Do you know when you're hit with a Disruptive Spell?

When you're hit with a Metamagic Disruptive Spell, are you aware you're under its effects? In other words, would you bother to cast a spell the round after you're hit with it or would you be aware that it will be harder to cast during that time and decide to do something else on your turn?

Thanks

I'd at least allow a Spellcraft check to notice the extra effect- Spellcraft should be able to tell when a spell is cast using Metamagic (and what the Meta is) as compared against when it isn't. Say, any check result high enough to notice a spell of the Metamagic-modified spell level.

I've gotten the impression that the designers of 3.5/Pathfinder think the player should have the information in these sorts of circumstances. It doesn't always make sense from a story perspective, however.

You would.

IMO, you should be aware of any immediate penalties, bonuses, and what not, unless it's some kind of "quiet curse", and since this is a 1 round effect that accompanies what is likely an attack spell, it's not a "quiet curse". Furthermore, you're not likely to "not bother" to cast spells, because no one is likely to cast a disruptive spell on you outside of combat. You're fighting to survive, and your best tools are spells. Even if you want to cast Dimension Door and just run away, you still need to make that check.

Maybe if you're a magus you might just rely on your sword until that round has passed. Maybe if you're a cleric and you've already partially buffed you won't cast any more spells and will just bash your opponent's face in. But quite often this metamagic would be useful.
