Diverting Teleportation

Greetings!

Does anyone know of a spell that can divert a teleporting character to a different location? I know that Dimensional Lock can block teleportation and interplanar travel to and from a warded location, but I need something (other than DM fiat) that will also send an incoming teleporter to a different, pre-chosen location.

Thanks for any help!

Not exactly. Anticipate teleport and greater anticipate teleport delay the arrival but do not divert it. I don't know if there's another spell.

I see no problem with DM fiat for this. Just make sure you know what it is you're fiating. Is it the result of a researched spell? Is it the result of a custom item (wondrous architecture)?

I think this is the kind of thing that players won't mind as long as it is used in moderation and you have an explanation for it if they bother investigating.

There is a Divert Teleport psionic power in the XPH. Monte Cook's Complete Book of Eldritch Might contains a number of teleport-related spells - I think there is a divert teleport kind of spell in there, as well as a trace teleport spell, too.

In the description of the teleport spell...

"Areas of strong physical or magical energy may make teleportation more hazardous or even impossible."

I interpret physical energy could be any of the elements; a strong wing, a large flow of lava, a strong current underwater. But they should probably be VERY strong...

Magical energy could be anything along the lines of a broken magical site; a magical dwarven forge with a bunch of orc skeletons around it... Or perhaps the ole cliche; a magic pool...
