Pathfinder 1E Disarm Question

Light Knight

I can't seem to find the search button, so forgive me if this has been answered.

If I am wielding 2 short swords. I have 3 attacks with primary and 2 with off hand and I do a full round attack, how many disarm attacks can I make?

According to COre Rules for PF, a disarm action is a melee attack, now is that an attack action (so only 1) or just one of your melee attacks.

if the latter, what is the point of the Break Guard feat?

Thanks in advance!

Unless they changed it significantly from 3.5 you can make a Disarm attempt with each attack until your opponent is disarmed...

The Break Guard feat says that as soon as you disarm the opponent with one weapon you can swift action attack with your other weapon... and then do other things too.

If you were just using a single/standard attack to disarm, you could disarm, attack and then move away w/o AoO's since your opponent is now weaponless

If you were doing a full attack action and manage to disarm on the 1st attack, then you get a swift attack with the off-hand (swift), and then your remaining 2 primary and 2 off-hand attacks....

You can make up to five disarm checks, at the appropriate penalties for fighting with two weapons. You can even attempt to disarm on an attack of opportunity - it can be done any time you can make a melee attack, in place of that attack.

Break Guard essentially gives you one extra attack at the cost of your swift action if you successfully disarm someone. You could disarm with this extra attack too, say, if you were fighting someone else with two weapons. This must be done on your action - you can't use break guard if you disarm someone with an attack of opportunity on their turn, for example. That would require an immediate action.

Break Guard (Combat)

You can use one of your two weapons to occupy your opponent’s defenses while attacking with the other.

Prerequisites: Dex 15, Int 13, Combat Expertise, Improved Disarm, Two-Weapon Fighting.

Benefit: While wielding two weapons, whenever you successfully use one weapon to disarm an opponent, you can spend a swift action to attack the opponent you attempted to disarm using your other weapon.
