Diablo 2 flavored Druid

First Post
This is the Protector Druid I have been playing in my campaign, flavored as a Diablo 2 Druid. Just wanted some opinions, snide remarks, or other ramblings. Hope you guys like it.

For starters, you should have at least a neck item and an armor with a +2 enhancement. In general, you should also look at taking an expertise feat and improved defenses to be a fair match against level-appropriate enemies.

I have no idea how the diablo-flavored druid might be flavored, so I'm not sure how to help you further. Tastes like chicken?

Our DM is stingy with magick items so that is why I only have 2. If you've played Diablo 2, I'm going for an Elemental/Summoning style Druid. As far as Expertise and Improved Defenses are concerned, I will get there some day.

I have, but never a druid. In that case, hopefully the new book on elemental powers will have some good stuff for you. Other than that, maybe you can pick the feywild animal tamer theme and refluff one of the animals to represent another of your summons. Or, if you are against refluffing, the animal trainer theme, which would give you one "permanent" animal friend.

As far as Expertise and Improved Defenses are concerned, I will get there some day.
I usually recommend taking them at late-heroic, because they become really valuable as soon as you hit paragon (except for versatile expertise), and you're usually busy taking paragon feats at that point. The same would apply to weapon/implement focus, but you're not damage oriented, so it's not relevant. This is even more the case if your DM is stingy with magic items.

I did pick up Heroes of the Feywild. Improved Defenses is a feat from HotFK, right? My DM doesn't like Essentials and has banned those books from his campaign because he feels they are "stupid" and "unbalanced". Diablo 2 Druids could summon bears, wolves, spirits, and vines. The Elemental tree had fire, wind, and ice but I'm leaning towards wind and snow as you can see from my power selection. I'm not really big into optimising, I prefer fluff myself and our party is pretty stacked, we have a Goliath Barbarian, Human Berserker, Eladrin Battle Cleric, Drow Twin Blade Ranger (with scimitars, emo, and panther), and a Halfling Brutal Rogue.

Ok, there are expertise feats, which are not in essential books... some of them in the same power level (e.g.: two handed expertise from HotFeywild)
Your DM should allow essential books, as they reintroduce flavour, and most gaps are filled: There are combined expertise feats (maybe not in the builder, but if not, they should appear this month).
So if he does not allow essential type products, you are out of luck though... but disallowing essentials seems rather narrow minded... there are more unbalanced things out there...
