Deities & Demigods vs Faiths & Pantheons

How much of the info on gods in F&P will be a reprint from D&Dg?

If not all godly abilities will be reprinted, FR deities will be different (weaker?) than Greyhawk ones.

If it contains new stuff, why Greyhawk (or Greek, Egyptian and Asgardian) deities cannot get such abilities?

Now I'm guessing here, but I'd imagine that the pages explaining how the entries work will be reprinted, possibly in a slightly condensed form, but that this would only be 2-5 pages or so. Think Monsters of Faerun in relation to the Monster Manual. Then the rest of the book would be write ups and stats of the FR gods, which won't appear in Dieties & Demigods, hence are not reprints.

I had basically decided that I was going to wait until both books came out, so I could compare them and see how much overlap there is, before buying either. With the prices in the $40 to $50 range for both books, that really discourages me from getting both. Sad thing is, if they'd both been in the $30 to $35 range that I've become accustomed to, I probably would have gotten both and not really thought much about it. And a year ago, I thought that was too much! I hope this price escalation doesn't continue...

Almost certainly. Some of our Singapore friends commented how some deities have unique Divine Abilities (eg. Corellon Larethian) not otherwise listed. So its a safe bet some of the FR deities will too!

Wonder if that means we'll see Mystra wield spellfire then. Or perhaps Tyr will have his magic hammer back!

Can you imagine Mystra not being Archmage 5?
Or being weaker then Elminster?

the reason i will buy Faiths and pantheons is because i want the demihuman deities in full...if it doesn't have those, then i'm not interested really...

Some of them definitely have FR Prestige classes. I know Shar has several levels of Shadow Mage, or at least did in my original turnover.
