DDO and 4th edition

I think the idea is that it is all one big encounter, in which case nothing regenerates. Or it's a new encounter and everyone is back to full resources. There would be nothing in between.

When you take into account that a round is 6s, it's not that unrealistic. Might actually go well with wounds/vitality. Vitality would regen back to full almost immediately after the fight, while wounds might take much longer to heal.

If DDO influences 4E then the level system is about to radically change. -You see there are now 12 levels in DDO and each of them is divided into 4 sublevels (the 5th being the next real level.)

I now hear that DDO will stop counting 'real' levels and rank according to total levels (subs and real). Which means a 12th level fighter is now a 60th level fighter.

So by the time DDO has 20 real levels, characters can reach level 100 instead. -Did anyone say wow?

Which incidentally only goes to level 60 currently, although I believe EverQuest I is pushing level 80 with the new expansion, EverQuest: Yet More Stuff More Powerful than the Gods That Need Killing Repeatedly.

IMO, Chrono Cross feels most like a cross between spell preparation and the 'recharge magic' system from Unearthed Arcana.

I have to wonder if the recharge system may not be a better baseline for what a lot of people want to do with D&D than either Vancian or spell-point systems.
