Hey Folks
Right atm we're having an argument in our group on the following:
Do opposing spells dispel each other _without a dispel check_?
So, for example, daylight says:
Right now we're crawling around in a dungeon filles with deeper darkenss at some locations.
Now, I'm aware that if you move into such an area with a daylight spell cast on yourself, the effect of both the darkenss and the light negate each other temporarily.
But if the darkness is centered on -say, a book lying on an altar or something - and you cast daylight onto it to dispel the darkness - do both spells just vanish with a "poof" or does one have to make a dispel check?
----------------------
Same question goes for Bless - Bane cast by a cleric. Can a bane cast by a third level cleric dispel a bless cast by a 18th level cleric without a check?
Thanks for your answers and participation in advance
Regards
