Besides Iron Kingdoms*, what published or upcoming Steampunk settings are there?

*presuming it ever comes out

Sorcery & Steam is already out. I rather like it. I am looking forward to further Iron Kingdom books though. Any word on the quality of the OGL Steamtech game coming out?

Steam & Steel: A Guide to Fantasy Steamworks isn't a setting (though it does have some sample mini-settings as examples for how the rules within could be used) but is instead a toolbox of steamtech rules which you may find useful - when it comes out. We've had several delays due to waiting for art to be finished - what I've seen of it is really good stuff, but until the artists get it all done I still can't give a definitive release date for Steam & Steel :( Should be soon now though!

Without spoiling anything can you give any details on how firearms are handled? So far I've picked up some things I like in Sorcery & Steam and the new Horizon Spellslinger games. But I haven't found one source that really suits my needs. I'm looking for consistant stats for blackpowder muzzle loaders (percusson cap), breechloaders (percussion caps, rifled) and early cap and ball revolvers. I would house rule a revolving cap and ball rifle. These would all use paper cartidges. True metal cased cartidges would be too "high tech" for what I have planned. Additionally stats for small field pieces and good shotgun "scatter" rules would be a bonus.

I'm not asking much am I?

Can you tell I'm a weapons nut? :) Just see me sketches... :)

How much will the book cost? Is this a paper publication or electronic?

Sorry if I highjacked this thread Ackem...

Do you mean really steampunk, or just settings that have some steamtech? Cause if you mean the former, I'd say there are none I'm aware of (although I did hear a rumor of Victoriana being released d20?) and if you mean the latter, Iron Kingdoms is probably your best bet. April release date for the first half of the campaign setting, last I heard.

You might check out Sidewinder: Recoiled for a d20 Modern treatment of a selection of 19th century firearms. Sidewinder: Recoiled is not a Steampulp game or setting (it's a western), but it does possess a chapter that covers historical firearms from the muzzleloader era, through the cap and ball, and on into the era of metallic cartridge ammunition. While the list of firearms is somewhat limited, there are 16 weapons with flintlock and percussion cap ignition.

There are two others I know of d20 Deadlands and Warcraft III d20.

In d20 DL it's tech rules are simple and you can ignore the whole "steamtech is only another form of Cthulu-type magic in Deadlands" by simply ignoring the insanity results.

In WC III d20 the rules were more complicated, but looked workable.

Malladin's Gate Press are currently working on our own Etherscope setting.

Plans are a little up in the air at the moment as we have had some interest shown from a print publisher.

We may release it our selves sometime late spring/early summer, but if we're lucky we'll be instead waiting on a print release in 2005.

Cheerio,

It could be me, but i don't see D&D: Warcraft as a steampunk setting...
