D20 Sports - how to play Football?

As an interlude in a game I want the PCs to enter a ball game circular field with a target at the center. Goal is to get the ball into the target net whilst opponents are defending the target and trying to steal the ball - tackling is allowed. So any ideas on how to model this

Tackle = Trip Attack (BAb vs AC)
Intercept = Opposed Reflex saves?
Pass/Catch = ?
Goal shot = BAb vs DC 15 (Target AC)?

1) Break rounds into 'segments', probably 6 segments per round.
2) Divide movement into each segment.
3) Allow for one 'attack action' per round in any of your segments.
4) Need to define some sort of way to do acceleration, deceleration, and turning. I.e. don't allow someone to completly reverse direction when they were running at top speed the round before.
5) Define new skills (that can be used untrained)
6) Define new feats, make sure you don't include any feats that would make it impossible for someone who doesn't have the feat to play the game.
