d20 Modern: anyone still playing?

I found my D20 Modern stuff and my imagination has exploded with the possibilities. Excited with both the Urban Arcana setting, as well as a Shadow Chaser concept (although I think Dark Matter is probably more up my alley). I don't have a gaming group near me (that I found), so will likely let my imagination run wild and try to write some short stories based on some adventures I found.

Anyone out there still playing any of these?

No. My current players want a leaner system without classes and more character options. That is why we are trying out Modern AGE.

But it is still a great source of inspiration when I look at the drawings and read the setting text. Glad to have them in my collection.

Modern AGE doesn't do Future. Green Ronin published The Expanse RPG using AGE but that is near future Solar System exploration and travel. To go further you would have to put system of alien gates. ;-)

I think I'd also pick something leaner to run a modern game in, probably FATE or something PbtA flavored. To each his own though. I'm going to take a look at AGE so I have something useful to say about it.

I want to play again. Love the modern setting. I probably have to go through and re-write the rules first. D20 modern does sort of show its age, now.

Not playing right now, but it's definitely a system I'll go back to. I love the flexibility and the grittiness.

It's funny how your tastes and preferences change over time. I really loved d20 Modern when it came out and played it for quite a few years. I have a huge collection of 3rd party d20 Modern products too. Then 4e came out and the d20 Modern party ended soon after. Today I prefer Fate Core/Accelerated games. I would consider d20 Modern again but if I'm being honest I'm just not that enamored with level-based "zero to hero" games anymore. We used to ramp up the starting level with d20 Modern so you could at least start at the first level of a prestige class rather than one of the basic classes.
