First Post
Anyone heard anything about this being a possibilty at anytime in the future?
I REALLY enjoy this 2 set series of books everytime i re-read them. I wish that someone somewhere would come out with a campaign setting based in his world of fantasy.
If there are any suppliments out there anyone has heard about or possibly anything in the making (which i regreatably doubt) please let me know....
For those who havent been blessed enough to have read what i speak of....pick up....

David Eddings

The Belgariad
Pawn of Prophecy
Queen of Sorcery
Magician's Gambit
Castle of Wizardry
Enchanters' End Game

The Malloreon
Guardians of the West
King of the Murgos
Demon Lord of Karanda
Sorceress of Darshiva
The Seeress of Kell

These are some very awesome and inspiring books. There are three other books that come after the fact, but just these alone are awesome. The first book is kinda slow but it sets all the hooks perfectly. Anyways i would appreciate it if anyone has heard anything about a game set in this awesome world. Thanks!

I would love such a setting!

I prefer Eddings to, let's say, Rober Jordan. And if Mr. Jordan can have a RPG, why not Mr. Eddings?
:)

Hmm, it would require a very diffrent and really flexible magic system. Maybe skill based? And in Edding`s World only spellcasters that aren`t ancient are Grolims. The solution would be to change The Disciples Of Aldur into a larger Order, and I don`t see the reason why Priests of other Gods can`t use magic.

Belgarath said in one book that all priests had "talent", but they could only use it in regions where their gods race and/or worship was predominant. So, the only magic using classes would be priests and Disciples (Disciples all NPCs unless you want to seriously alter the story), and it would require a very different magic system.

Flex magic

The original Ars Magicka RPG had a good skill based magic system that they could adapt to Eddings' works. The Wheel of Time RPG incorporates a good, if sparse, flex magic system that is already in d20 format. I would love to see these books as an RPG.

Actually we encounter several different types of magic users, from the demon summoners of Karanda, and the area around the land bridge, to the witch of the fens, to the alchemest who lived on the island of Malorea who spontaniously learned the will and the way. All of these systems of magic were linked in a discussion in one of the books, and Beldin came up with a theory as to why there were so few who could use the magic.
