d12, the LEAST used die

Just curious if WotC will be removing the d12 as one of their standard die? Right now, it is the least used die. The thing that prompted me to think/ask this is from a quote someone else said in a different thread...

10 rounds is a long fight?

With the low weapon damage etc. I had the impression that the fights last much longer (in rounds) than in 3E.

Not sure how they know weapon damage will be lowered, but assuming this is true, it would stand to reason they might get rid of using the d12 (replace it with 2d6 where it's warranted).

It could also see MORE use, as it is only one die and 2d6 is two dice. Since using fewer dice speeds up play, there is a possibility for a larger role for the poor d12 in 4e.

Thaumaturge.

d12s also makes criticals more fun, because it's hard to roll max damage with, say, 3d12, but a critical deals a serious amount of hurt.

Gods I hope not!

d12 may be relegated to being the "barbarian die," but there is no justice in this world if they get rid of it!

Get rid of the d10, not the d12. That stupid "die" isn't even a platonic solid, for crying out loud!

The recently-revealed pit fiend uses a mace that does d12+11 damage--so d12 is pretty clearly still in.

Nononono, use the d12 to replace the accursed, horrible, wretched abomination that is the – I can barely speak its name – the * ugh * d4.
