D&D General D&D Monopoly

I wonder if the minis can be used for actual D&D, or if they are a wrong size. I also noticed that Boardwalk is the Tarrasque and Park Place is Demogorgon. Let that debate begin. At least the poor kobold is Baltic.

Huh, I would have guessed that they'd use famous dungeons (or other locales) instead of monsters. Like, making the Tomb of Horrors be Boardwalk, the Temple of Elemental Evil be Park Place, all the way down to having the Sunless Citadel be Baltic Avenue.

Using monsters, by contrast, gives the whole thing a quasi-Pokemon vibe, since now you're buying, selling, and trading creatures instead of properties.

They missed an opportunity by using the standard Monopoly spaces for "In Jail" and "Go To Jail." Obviously they should be "The Dungeon" and "Caught by the City Watch" with D&D appropriate art. The standard spaces are a bit jarring.

Edit: And don't get me started on "Free Parking." And why aren't the prices in GP?

"Legendary traveler and storyteller of fame, Volothamp Geddarm, is seeking explorers of both the unpredictable and familiar in this fantastical spin on the classic board game. Players will need to capture dangerous creatures of the Forgotten Realms to help Volo research them for his tome, while also trying to come out with the most riches!"

And yet Castle Ravenloft and Tomb of Horrors (Greyhawk) are "rail roads", did Hasbro even consult WotC?

Now I am reconsidering my purchase. I have other themed monopoly so this is really a missed play on genre.
